havent seen anything on this yet on here
the rumor that nintedo was trying to combine both a console and portable is actually true and it looks pretty nice.

Looks like it'll render the DS line obsolete.

nintendo says this isnt meant to replace the ds line but we've heard that before when the ds came out and they said the ds isnt supposed to replace the gameboy line. the switch is going to be many times more stronger than the 3ds and should be stronger than the wii u by a decent margin. though no concrete specs have been revealed yet. but yeah this should make the 3ds obsolete.

I can just imagine kids getting on the school bus after school, and playing the Switch on the ride home, and then they get home and go straight to plugging it in to the main console without missing a beat.

I like it. Nintendo's biggest strength has always been its first party software. I mean if the intent is to give users the same experience both at home and on-the-go, then that's great. Though it basically cuts their consumer market in half, if this console is going to be both their next gen. at-home and handheld device. But I guess if it's a hit, it really doesn't matter considering how both the Wii U and 3DS under-performed when compared to their predecessors.
IMO they really need to continue to push their software in the mobile gaming market. Pretty much everyone has a smartphone these days and plenty of people would be willing to shell out a couple of bucks on the likes of Mario, Zelda, etc. Even if you don't want to put out new stuff on the mobile market, you could just as easily put out retro stuff and people would still buy it simply for the nostalgia factor. I know I wouldn't mind paying $7-$10 if I could play Super Mario World on my phone any time.
