The Green Mile was my go-to for a long time. Admittedly, that was one of the few books of his that had a movie where I read the book first.
But I think 11/22/63 is my new top book of his. It might actually be my favorite book. I've either read or listened to it four times since it came out.

My favorite is probably Hearts in Atlantis. Right now I'm on the fifth book in the Dark Tower series.

Needful Things.
I don't enjoy his stuff as much as I used to; I haven't really cared for too much he's written since he got hit by the van. But I still remember the days when my kids would cheer for a new Stephen King, because it meant pizza or spaghettios for dinner so that I wouldn't have to stop reading long enough to make real food.

I think he's gotten more and more graphic / descriptive as his blindness is progressing and that's why his books have a different taste to them now as opposed to the earlier stuff. It's like he's trying to save all possible visuals to paper as much as possible before he doesn't have the visuals anymore. Needful Things has a special place in my collection [wherever the hades it is right now...I'm hoping it wasn't in the storage shed that caught fire] . It was the first brand new Stephen King book I ever bought. It was huge, it was hardcover, and I bought it at the University Varsity Mart with my carefully hoarded broke college student moneys along with that semester's overpriced texts.

Wait, King's going blind? EDIT: Oh, kinda
"No, I'm not. I have a predisposition--and it's a genetic thing--to macular degeneration and that's a disease you can read about on the internet. It eventually results in blind spots and a loss of vision but I don't have any of the symptoms yet-just that predisposition and I think it's something that I may have to face in the future, but, no, I'm not going blind."
I really like Insomnia a lot, and Needful Things, Duma Key, 11/22/63, etc...

It's like cancer, it's all about how you react in the end. You can either panic and make things worse or you can try to store up as many experiences as you can just to prove you can.

No one likes the ending of The Dark Tower.
