You know, I have to say: Staying up until 4:30 a.m. to watch the movie was fun, but it certainly let me know why I liked seeing the block's hours cut. I prefer to watch the whole thing minus reruns (occasionally) and still get a reasonable amount of sleep at night. And on this particular night, I had to be up early so I could go to the mall in someplace relative to you. A Mountain Dew Kickstart is basically what's propping me up right now. But, regardless, it was damn good to watch a movie again. And I was only mildly confused by this one.

So, change of plans.
I'm not doing a BAKUON!! post tomorrow because it would be pointless in light of the boards moving elsewhere. And it's really late on a Saturday night (technically Sunday) and I haven't even started writing it yet, so I guess that gets me out of trouble. Instead, whenever the new boards are ready, I'll remake this thread, post a recap of the first three episodes, soon after, and then Episode 4 will be posted... eh, probably on Tuesday. Because you'll all need something to help cure the Electoral College blues going on. It'll be enough fun.

Blatch Your idea to air Summer Wars two weeks in a row would bomb. We already saw how bad the rerun movies did for the second Month of Movies, which lead to the moratorium on movies. We don't want to sabotage the tentative return of movies right after it starts! Hence why the second airing is at 2:30. And... really, if I could come up with a better schedule for that day, I might. But Summer Wars is still a good movie.

Well, it hasn't aired on Toonami in nearly 2 years. Plus, there's a new Funimation release of it coming soon (as part of The Mamoru Hosoda Collection), so any chance to advertise it should probably be capitalized on.

Hmm. Good points all around.
You really seem to want Children Who Chase Lost Voices to get an airing at a reasonable time. I think they'd be more likely to do an encore of it on Christmas Eve, though the idea of playing a movie along with a regular half-hour is pretty tantalizing. Maybe Toonami could get a really cheap contract extension on one of the 2013-14 movies and them both together?
I'd like to believe that this is possible...
12/17/2016:
12:00M: Dragon Ball Z Kai #98 12:30A: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure #09 1:00A: Summer Wars
12/24/2016:
12:00M: Children Who Chase Lost Voices 2:30A: Summer Wars
And then New Year's Eve(-il) could rerun the entirety of JJBA Part 1, with maybe something extra airing at 4:30A if their OCD would want to keep up a 5-hour block.

I swear to god Alchemist, if you ask Demarco if this is legit, I will pop you! Hence why said website tells you as much. Though I will say, even before a marathon for any given weekend is announced, the schedule is usually blank until a few days before it happens. But that's not the case for this time, which is why I feel so confident about it.

With the help of the improved backdoor schedule, I was able to get dibs on November 26th's tentative lineup (with the finale of Intruder III), and... it looks normal. Here is the raw XML file, if you want it. So this is pretty unexpected. I guess the Parasyte marathon from last year did so well that they decided to remove the handicap and play the weekend normally. Though maybe Thanksgiving being a bit earlier this year is involved in that.

Okay, so I guess this new forum might not even be permanent, but it'll be good to have a thread up here, just for this special night.
Enjoy your Makoto Shinkai movie, and your... movie. And make sure to watch this at 3:00 a.m. so we might get more.

Those of you from the uglier version of the boards probably remember my thread about Mnet America playing Love Live! off in deep cable, even as they played the same episode four months in a row. Well, today... and I don't even know why, but I decided to check into the channel to see how the hell they were tempering not having access to the last two episodes. Well, I turned on the TV to watch, and guess what showed up? Season 2, Episode 12. And then they aired the finale, somehow pulling off the not necessarily nearly possible feat of completing the show. It was really sweet to see... but now I'm left wondering if they were airing them for weeks without me knowing.

So you had it going on a delay? Well, when I first heard your plans for the thread, I thought "Well, I'll give him a day or two to post it, but I'll come in with my own thread if he doesn't". I suppose all is fair between us, though.

The question is: would they dare to do something crazy like double up on Kai Buu Saga just to get to Super faster if they DID acquire it? Maybe because I want them to finish Kai Buu Saga first, if they can even get THAT, it would be best if Super didn't go directly to Toonami, but rather to CN first with a dual-agreement with both companies a la Star Wars: The Clone Wars? If it DID come to Toonami, the [as] encore would probably be back, right? That's what I'm thinking. I mean, they could probably get a good amount of adolescents/teenagers that way. In all honesty, I want this show to air on a kids network and be marketed towards kids, but with the state of action cartoons in America being on something damn close to life support, how can you assume they'll be watching?

NOW FEATURING: Insanity Hello there. You probably already know who me and my friends are, but I feel like elaborating. When I first came to these boards, I noticed Poke_Nirvash's strange tradition of assigning content ratings to various anime shows, such as OreImo, and the first season of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure before it aired on Toonami. So I decided to get in on the act by rating Squid Girl, followed by other programs. So, to make a short story even more brief, after two different configurations of the [as] boards, they (finally[?]) bit the dust, so I've decided to continue the tradition alongside my friend. Sadly, the thread almost certainly wasn't archived due to the sudden death of the NodeBB boards (though I'll always have a bit from when Lithium reigned), so we'll have to start from scratch, minus the actual content rating images. If you want to see what the process is like, check out this sample album of mine, which gives ratings to Holy Knight. You can find a ton of ratings in the folders of both me and Poke. Just look in our profiles and/or signatures. Also, anyone else who feels like joining in on the fun can still do so. Just tell me you're interested and want to do a series, and I'll update the top part of this thread accordingly. There are no real rules to doing the thing; you can talk about the show (preferrably an anime, since this thread is in that section) as much as you want, but make sure to include a content rating, maybe some explanation for the rating, and an image. Poke will tell you how to make one if you don't know, but try not to sweat it. It's a strange new world out here, with the looping Golbat GIF on top of this thread and our reputations reset to Diddley Squat, but I'm sure you won't mind coping with me.

My good friend Jess ("jessfromabove" on here) from Twitter and occasionally other [as]-related places made this, so I figured you all should see it. adultswim.x10.mx/It's basically the XML files from the former backdoor schedule arranged in a way that's easier to view. You can see up to three weeks into the future until the start of the first full week of next month. So yeah, I hope you enjoy it, and she'll get a proper web domain for the thing pretty soon.

I'm here. Because I'm like an 'ole mutt that always finds his way out of the mines and into the next profitable subculture.
Now, with Intruder 3 about to start up alongside Children Who Chase Lost Voices, I hope this is a productive week here on the "NĂ¼" boards.
