there are only 5 active players in the league who started their careers in the 90s.
5.
five.
...where has the time gone. who are they? i can cheat and google but all i can think of is paul pierce and ray allen. both duncan and bryant retired end of last season. i know andre miller was still playing last year but not sure about this year.

I like Wade and Rondo individually but laughed hard when Chicago added them both this summer... then followed that up by trading for MCW. Like wtf? It's like they decided to build around Jimmy Butler by acquiring several more guards with almost the exact same skill sets and limitations as Jimmy Butler. But after watching their first game vs the Celtics I am all in on rooting for the Chicago Butlers as this year's Cavs killer, if only because someone has to be, and it sure as shit isn't going to be Toronto.
Also love that Harden lost to the Lakers in spite of putting up 15+ free throws and assists. In an alternate universe he is the Ginobili on OKC's championship team. In this universe, he is probably going to average over 12 free throws a game while missing the playoffs. But I don't think he really cares all that much about winning a title, so w/e makes him happy
As a Memphis fan I hate having to try to be optimistic about Chandler fucking Parsons who isn't even cleared to play yet, but seeing what they accomplished over the course of all those years with Tayshaun Prince starting at small forward gives me real hope. If ZBo can average a double double off the bench and someone besides Conley learns to shoot a 3 I think they have a good shot against anyone, assuming of course that God is done sniping at the Grizzlies with his injury gun and doesn't force them to re-sign Mario Chalmers.

Knicks looked good tonight but they need to get better at playing with a lead, Rose and Noah look healthy tho and that's a huge relief....tho I thought Noah was gonna give himself a heart attack out there.

Hidden old man carter still hasnt retired yet?

well it's kinda hard to dunk it in a game when youre not as young anymore. i bet he could still get up high and dunk. just not in game where you have giant 7 footers get in your way.

He's the best defender they have now (an area where they've been miserable the past few years) he rebounds, gets out on the break and passes well (usually) my only concern would be I don't want his livewire play to rub off too much on Porzingis because Porzingiz is at his worst when he's too amped up and not thinking clearly.

i havent seen him play but noah has been on a decline the last 2 or so years, mainly due to injury. but if can keep it healthy for a large majority of the season then he should be able to contribute rather well.
also didnt see any games today cuz i was watching football but looks like westbrook is continuing his triple double performance. i know its very early but the top 6 scorers in the league are averaging 30 plus points in this young season.

scoring on the knicks is like cutting through microwaved butter.
other than that, derek rose was great this game...hes a serious help, im surprised.
the most hilarious part about tonight though was that melo block, and when the rockets center fell on his own during a fastbreak.

what!? my favorite player has a show!? and KD wins the first match vs his former team? i want to say good days but my team is struggling at the start. fixed! Thunder aren't going to do shit with just Westbrook. They'll contend, but they'll end up being like a 5-8 seed unless they get Westbrook some help. As previously stated, dude is an apex predator on the court but, he needs some kind of good scoring anchor. Someone to leaaaaaan on who will slap the shit out of him and tell him to pass the ball.

haha thanks.
but yeah, preferably another ball handler that can also shoot a 3. westbrook turns it over too much in those last minutes. someone that tells him to pass it could work too

I told everyone i know the Warriors will loose more games than last year, they have to integrate those new pieces together an it takes time, the finished product will look good at the end but they will have games like these where they look beatable
Also lakers looking good with their young guys but will have an average season

i was kinda sad seeing kobe retire, not because i liked him or anything but he clearly was holding that team back so much in his last 5-6 seasons. i was hoping for 2-3 more years but that would have been asking for too much. though theres still a chance the owners can fuck shit up. one can only hope they turn into the knicks of the west. but for right now, it looks like they are taking the right steps.
i think youre right about the warriors, they wont win as many games this season. but once that team figures everything out and they start gelling, its gonna hard to stop.
and how bout my boy lillard! he's currently tied for 2nd with westbrook in points average in this young nba season. 42 for tonight.
